Logistics Manager
Position: Logistics Manager
Location: Belfast
Duration: Permanent
Salary: £38K to £42K (Dependent on experience)
Hours of Work: Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm (Occasional weekend work required)
Duties will include (but not be limited to):
To lead the logistics team and manage all aspects of department, including but not restricted to
- A busy container depot, a 24-hr operational hot rolled coil steel store, Container devanning and distribution operation & Management of multiple warehouses
- Costing and budgeting new and existing customer base
- Lead and motivate the teams on a day-to-day basis ensuring a safe and productive warehouse environment in accordance with company policies.
- Adopt and demonstrate a Customer Centred approach.
- Through effective leadership of Health and Safety matters, ensure best practice adopted throughout and a Safety Culture at all times
- Operating systems accurately to ensure delivery of outcomes and effective management of goods in, warehousing, despatch and stock and logistics.
- Contributing to systems reviews and implementing change to existing systems when required
- Compliance fully with safe and secure handling of all goods in/Out, Stock Control, Administrative Duties, Process Improvement, Adding Stock to Systems and Cost Controls to minimise errors and maximise efficiency.
- Lead the Logistics team to deliver business requirements on a day-to-day basis ensuring the right quality standards are met.
- Plan assign and direct work, appraising employees accordingly.
- As a member of the Management team, support the development of people and process across the operational areas and where necessary, other departments.
- Conduct reviews with warehouse operations staff as required by the business.
- Provide effective leadership, ensuring quality and delivery on time.
- Identify and support ideas for change and improvement in the warehouse processes, which could be efficiency, quality or customer service centred or all.
- Ensure high standards of inventory accuracy are always maintained through management of the people processes and software.
- Involved in setting the standards, monitoring and reporting as required by senior leadership.
Essential Criteria:
Education & Experience
- Minimum 3 years managing a busy warehouse.
- Minimum 3 years in direct line management of at least 4 staff
- Excellent leadership, teamwork, interpersonal, communication and analytical skills
- Experience in multi-tasking and making rounded decisions about resource utilisation
